This refurbished Roku 4 is low price, fast and works flawlessly. It looks new. This Roku 4 does not auto reboot while in use, like the Roku 2 which I still have. It is 4K display capable but since I don't have a 4K display, I did not choose that option but knowing that I feel that I have a bit of future proofing should I want to upgrade to 4K display in the future.

ROKU makes a good product. I got this refurbished model for our main TV room unit. It looks and works like new, for a lot less than even a new ROKU UHD. We got a new one for my wife for the kitchen, and this one does the same things. I couldn't find a refurbished unit then, or I would have got one then. The picture quality is way better than the ROKU SE I have in my home office. Now you can use a micro SD card to hold your channel info so it loads much quicker than before. A must if you have a lot of saved channels. I added my Amazon Prime to it, and I can watch stuff all day and never worry about a local channel. I've considered dropping my HDTV stuff from my cable provider and having basic channels. I can get any news from PLUTO TV or Cheddar channels, I can even get on demand from other channels like SYFY, FOX, CW, etc. An now that ROKU has their own UHD channel, the movies you can watch are limitless. The remote headset feature is awesome. Watch out though, if you leave it paired all the time the batteries in the remote will drain fast. I really like the point that you can actually power this unit (all of the UHD's, I think) down via the menu. Then all you have to do is press OK and the unit powers up. My wife used the voice search a couple of times, I haven't. She said it works fair. All in all, this is just a s good as a new one, at a fraction of the cost.

I am pretty pleased so far with the Roku 4. I just set it up two night ago. The setup and user handbook material is pretty poor and not simple or user-friendly. It took quite a while to figure out how to use it and once I did I was only sort of impressed. I find that the picture it sends to the TV is much darker than the actual tv itself, particularly so with Netflix and Amazon streaming. I do not have Hulu or Vidu but I am assuming the same is true of them as most of the channels seem darker than they should be. That having been said I would rate the ROKU 4 only three stars as just being adequate but I give it four stars because I love the headphone/volume control function in the Roku's remote control. Although my complaint about the sound is my complaint about all of streaming services; the sound is muted and you get better, louder, crisper sound on regular TV or Cable as well as on DVDs and particularly Blu-Ray discs. Perhaps I am of a fading era but I still prefer dvd/blueray as I find all streaming to be of lower quality in all its aspects. I bring this latter point out because this bias may color my review of the Roku which is basically a streaming device.
